Crohn's Disease Complications

Tagged As:

Help! I'm a 47 yo female who was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease about 9 years ago. Recently, I have been having severe abdominal bloating (I look like I'm pregnant), sharp pain in the left lower groin area, extreme tenderness all over the abdomen. My CT Scans say I have mesenteric adenopathy, poss. diverticulitis. I have increased fatigue, joint pain, and blurry vision. My GI Dr. has me on Remicade (I've had 5 doses now), but I'm not getting any better. He seems to be at a loss as to what to do next, accept keep plugging along with meds (Asacol) and Remicade. Meanwhile, I'm in agony. I have more constipation now, and I'm gaining weight, I retain fluid, often only on one side of my body, the left, the same side as the pain. Has anyone out there had a similar problem? What helped? I'm so miserable and Life is so limited lately, I'm really depressed.

Look into following the Maker's Diet by Jordan Rueben and also investing in the book Nourishing Traditions.
